When you first hear Vicci Martinez sing, you know immediately that you could be in the presence of somebody great. Vicci may be 24 years old, but she writes, sings and plays guitar with the touch of a veteran. Vicci is an acoustic-based singer/songwriter with a passionate voice, profound lyrics and incendiary live performances. The Tacoma native is growing a grass roots following and critical acclaim with her contagious live performances throughout the Northwest and beyond.
After the 2005 release of her 4th album, On My Way, Vicci has been touring the region non-stop, repeatedly selling out the prestigious Triple Door in Seattle and opening for Sting and Annie Lennox at the White River Amphitheatre. Vicci has been on the cusp of mainstream stardom with successful appearances on CBS-TV's nationally syndicated Star Search and winning the regional tryouts for American Idol in 2000 at the tender age of 16. But she has turned down such offers in favor of pursuing success on her own terms and staying true to her musical vision.
Whether it's an intense solo performance, an acoustic duet, or her electric full band, her powerful mezzo-soprano is equally convincing on anthemic rockers and sensitive ballads. And her songwriting has progressed well beyond the "promising" stage. This vibrant young singer continues to develop her talent patiently, building a solid ground of experience playing major festivals and the top venues in the Northwest region. Get ready world - Vicci Martinez is On Her Way.
